Storiis provides focused AI tools for developing the story before—or alongside—the scene Plan. They can help turn a premise into a foundation, revise an outline, propose a cast, explore the world or define a storyline.
Use the smallest tool that fits the work. If your outline is the problem, you do not need to regenerate the characters, the world and a small supporting moon.
Brainstorm Your Story with AI
Open Story → Overview and select Brainstorm your Story with AI.
The guided conversation can begin with a logline, setting, hook or whatever fragment you have. It asks questions about the idea before generating material, allowing you to choose options, add your own answers and steer the direction as it develops.
Before anything is created, you choose the deliverables you want:
- Overview tab detail — synopsis, genre, theme, mood, point of view, setting, dramatic question and central conflict material
- Outline — an act-by-act outline
- Characters / Key Cast — main and supporting characters, with optional generated portraits
- Reference Library items — useful backstory events, worldbuilding elements and standalone facts
Storiis develops a consistent story behind the scenes but saves only the areas you select. This makes the tool suitable for a nearly blank story without requiring you to hand over every section.
When to Use It
Start here when you have an exciting premise but cannot yet describe the complete story.
Keep the scope narrow when you already have established material. If your Story overview is solid but the outline is not, select only the deliverable you want changed—or use the dedicated Outline tool.
Brainstorm Your Outline with AI
Open Story → Outline and select Brainstorm your Outline with AI. You can also choose Scenes → Outline with AI from the app menu.
Outline assistance can draft an outline from the current synopsis or help revise an outline that already exists. It is deliberately limited to the Story outline: it does not quietly create scenes, replace characters or reorganize acts in the Plan.
Use the conversation to identify the kind of revision you need, then review the proposed outline changes before applying them.
When to Use It
Choose Outline assistance when the broad story is unclear but you are not yet ready to create individual scenes.
If the Plan already exists and the problem involves actual scene order, character connections or story beats, use AI Plan Review instead.
Brainstorm Characters with AI
Open Characters and select Brainstorm Characters with AI. The tool uses the story’s synopsis, outline and tone to propose a cast of main and supporting characters.
Review the proposed characters and add only those the story needs. Once added, they become ordinary editable character profiles.
When to Use It
Run this after establishing the premise and central conflict. Ask whether each proposed character creates pressure, choice or change. “Seems as though they would own an excellent coat” is not, by itself, a dramatic function.
For central characters, develop their motivations, starting and ending states and journey beats before asking AI to create a full scene Plan.
Brainstorm Your World With AI
Open a Worldbuilding element in the Reference Library and select Brainstorm Your World With AI.
This is a guided interview tailored to the element’s domain. It asks focused questions, fills the element’s working material and can suggest connections to characters. Because it develops one element at a time, it is easier to direct than a general request to “build my world.”
Review the result and make definitive truths explicit under Canonical Facts. Put rules the story must not violate under Constraints.
When to Use It
Use the interview when a location, culture, institution, technology, historical event or other piece of the world affects the plot but remains vague.
Avoid using it merely to produce volume. Worldbuilding becomes useful when it changes what characters know, value or can do.
Help Me with This Storyline
Create a storyline in the Storylines panel and select Help me with this.
Storiis uses the main story, current characters and existing storylines to draft a complementary thread. It can propose the storyline’s:
- Name and dramatic question
- Backstory and goal
- Stakes and opposing force
- Resolution
The draft is placed into the ordinary storyline form. You can edit it, choose a structure template and decide whether to create it.
When to Use It
Use the helper when you know the function of a subplot or relationship thread but cannot yet express its progression. Give the storyline a clear question that can change across multiple beats.
If you need help turning those beats into actual scenes, continue to Scenes and Plan Review.
Review Before You Apply
Generated material becomes useful only after it survives contact with the story you intend to tell.
Before accepting a result, check:
- Does it support the dramatic question?
- Does it respect existing canon and constraints?
- Does each new character or storyline have a distinct function?
- Does the proposed material fit the Tone & Style guidance?
- Is it solving the problem you asked about, or inventing a more convenient one?
